The Ottawa School of Speech and Drama (OSSD) is a not-for-profit charitable school that provides training and education in Drama, Theatre, Speech Arts and Musical Theatre for students of all ages in the Ottawa-Carleton area. The school also encompasses The Ottawa Theatre School, an intensive 3-year Conservatory acting training program.
Over 600 students attend the school in both the recreational and professional division. Courses and camps are offered for all ages, and a range of productions can been seen throughout the year. OSSD’s venue includes the Natalie Stern Studio Theatre, a black box studio that allows students to explore various performance styles, as well as encouraging the development of work by new and emerging theatre artists.
Over the course of over 20 years, OSSD has built a great team of instructors. Professional actors, directors, writers, singers and dancers all find a home teaching at OSSD, as do specialists in drama in education, voice coaches and drama teachers.
